For those of you who don't know, I'm going to be taking a mission trip to Bolivia, August 6-15, 2010. I wanted to keep my family and friends informed of the trip preparation and I might even be able to upload some pictures while I'm there. You may be wondering why I named the blog "debemos ir"...obviously it is Spanish, but what does it mean? It means "we must go". One of my favorite worship songs is "we must go" by Tim Hughes and it convicts me every time I sing it about missions. There is also a line in the song that says "move us into action" which is the address of the blog. I know I was not called to be a missionary in a foreign country...at least I haven't been called yet, but I do feel like God has opened doors for me to take this trip and serve how I can there. He has moved me into action.
Lauren Spears moved from Louisville to Baltimore with us to help launch Mosaic. She lived here for a little over a year and then committed to move to Bolivia as a veterinary missionary. She has been there since August, 2009. Our team, from Mosaic, will go and help her, however we can. The plans are for us to lead 4 Vacation Bible Schools, help out at an orphanage, and possibly some construction. I have a very generous friend who paid for my entire trip. I'm so grateful to her. I won't be updating this blog very often, but please keep me in your prayers as I will be leaving my husband, my kids, and my comfort. I must go...
